The Penticton Kiwanis Music Festival invites singers, actors, performers, teachers, parents, and all community members to participate in workshops led by the 2025 Speech Arts Adjudicator, Cathy Wilmot. Cathy has a wealth of experience teaching theatre and voice, with tons of ideas to make learning fun. Here's what Cathy has planned.
6:30 – 7:30 pm workshop for 7 – 10 years
"Shake, Rattle, and Resonate!"
In this fun and engaging workshop, young performers will discover the power of their voices! Through playful exercises, games, and storytelling, participants will explore vocal techniques, clear speech, and expressive text work bringing words to life!
7:30 – 8:30 pm workshop for 11 years & up
"Voice, Speech, and Exploration"
A fun and dynamic workshop on embodying text, unlocking vocal resonance, and bringing words to life! Through some exercises, participants will explore vocal techniques, clear speech, and expressive text work. Perfect for young actors, storytellers, and anyone who loves to use their voice!
