We're so proud to be a part of the upcoming Ignite the Arts Festival, once again bringing exciting and engaging music events to the community. This year, we're offering three inspiring workshops designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression for musicians of all levels.

Youth Songwriting Camp – March 24-28

One of the festival’s flagship programs, the Youth Songwriting Camp, returns for its fourth year, offering young musicians an opportunity to develop their skills in songwriting, music, and spoken word poetry. Led by Corwin Fox, Tereza Tomek, and Naomi Shore, three professional musicians and educators, this immersive experience culminates in a showcase concert at the Dream Café, launching the festival weekend. Open to aspiring young songwriters, this camp is the perfect opportunity to express creativity and build confidence in a supportive, collaborative setting.

Adult Songwriting Bootcamp – March 26-28

Calling all adult songwriters! Whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting your journey, the Adult Songwriting Bootcamp is an inspiring three-day workshop where participants will explore the art of songwriting, refine their craft, and connect with other music enthusiasts. Led by two Juno-nominated musicians, Dave and Kirby Barber, this bootcamp provides an encouraging space to develop ideas, experiment with melody and lyrics, and create something meaningful. Participants will also be invited to perform their new creations at the Festival's Songwriters Circle at the Dream Café on Friday night. (Register here.)

Improv Workshop – March 29, 1 PM at the Legacy Den

Creativity knows no limits in the Improv Workshop, where participants will step outside their comfort zones and into a world of spontaneous musical collaboration. Led by Daniel Cramer and two other professional music educators, this 90-minute session is designed for musicians and performers of all levels who want to explore improvisation in a fun and interactive way. Festival passholders attend for free, PAMDA students can join for $25, and the general public can attend at the door for $35.

We absolutely love being part of Ignite the Arts Festival. If you haven't had a chance to participate, make sure you do this year. The energy, the creativity, and the sense of community that fills the city during the festival weekend are truly special. You don't want to miss being part of this inspiring musical experience!
