Registration and Payment Policies
There is an annual non-refundable registration fee of $30.00 per student, per discipline to a maximum of $80.00 per family due at registration. The registration fee for group classes is $20.00 per student, per class. These fees are payable at the time of registration.
There is also a Penticton Academy of Music Society membership fee of $10.00 per family which is due at registration. Our music academy is a charitable non-profit organization and all members enjoy benefits and responsibilities at the Academy such as Member Only Events, Voting and Discounts.
Registration will not be accepted if past or current dues are outstanding. Registration and payment of tuition will be accepted only after all outstanding amounts are settled. Students will be advised of any credits on account by the end of June each year.
Lesson times are only confirmed after registration is complete (online form completed and payment received).
The Penticton Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts accepts registrations for private lessons throughout the academic year subject to the availability of a teacher.
The Penticton Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts follows the calendar of the local school district. Non-teaching days include the Christmas holidays, March break, and all statutory holidays, but not pro-d days. A statutory holiday may be used by a teacher for a make-up lesson. This is at the discretion of the teacher.

Monthly payments may be made ONLY by post-dated cheques.
Cheques payments can by made by submitting 10 post-dates made payable to “Penticton Academy of Music” dated the first of each month.
We can not accept credit card payments.
NSF cheques must be replaced within 15 days of notification or lessons will be discontinued. All NSF cheques are subject to a $25 charge.
E-transfer invoices must be paid within 15 days of being received. Lessons will be discontinued if payment is not remitted within 15 days.
Students are required to contact their teacher if they will miss a lesson. Lessons missed by students are not refunded and teachers are not obligated to make up missed lessons, but may do so at their discretion.
When a teacher misses or cancels a lessons, the teacher will make up the lesson at a mutually convenient time or the student will receive a refund which will be given at the end of the year (June).
Students withdrawing from private lessons much give four weeks notice to the teacher and the office. These lessons, whether taken or not, will be charged for. No withdrawal will be accepted after April 1st, 2019.
The Penticton Academy of Music and Dramtic Arts reserves the right to discontinue lessons with a student if deemed necessary.
