Private Lesson Policies
For the 2019 – 2020 academy year, private lessons are scheduled once weekly for a full academic year. Lessons begin the week of September 7, 2019 and end June 12, 2020 and include a total of 36 lessons.
Lessons not included in the 36 lesson term include Christmas break (2 weeks) and Spring break (2 weeks).
IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR 2019-2020!
Payments are due at the time of registration in full by cash, cheque or etransfer OR in 8 equal payments by post-dated cheque (September 1, 2019 to April 1, 2019).
Cheques are made payable to “Penticton Academy of Music” dated the first of each month.
PLEASE NOTE: NSF cheques must be replaces within 1 week of notification and include applicable charges.
Annual Registration Fees
There is an annual non-refundable REGISTRATION FEE of $35.00 per discipline to a maximum of $90.00 per family due at registration. Registration fees go towards paying our office staff.
All past dues must also be paid at the time of registration.
Penticton Academy of Music Society Fee
There is also a Penticton Academy of Music Society Membership fee of $15.00 per family is due at registration. Our Society Members have certain benefits and responsibilities at the Academy such as Member Only Events, Volunteering, Voting and Discounts.
Missed Lessons, Withdrawals, Refunds and Cancellations
Missed lessons: The Academy and its faculty are under no obligation to give refunds or make up lessons for lessons missed by students.
Cancelled lessons: Lessons cancelled by faculty will be made up at a mutually convenient time or student accounts will be credited.
Lesson withdrawal: Four weeks notice must be given for withdrawal from lessons. These lessons, whether taken or note, will be charged for. No withdrawal will be accepted after April 1st, 2020 (for the 2019-2020 academy year).
To register for private lessons please follow these steps:
Step 1: Read the FACULTY BIOS on our website to help you choose a teacher.
Step 2: Call the Academy office at 250-493-7977 or email email@example.com for the contact information and rates of the faculty you would like to take lessons with. Fifteen (15) minute trail lessons are available.
Step 3: Contact the teacher to set up a lesson time.
Step 4: Once you have contacted the teacher to set up a time your must REGISTER ONLINE or in person at the Academy office, room 1 of the Leir House.
Step 5: After you register you will receive an email invoice. Payments can be made via etranfer or post-dated cheques.
