Fahlon Palm

Fahlon Palm is an accomplished music performer and teacher. After completing a Bachelor of Music Performance at the University of Victoria in 2016, Fahlon went on to graduate from the Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Education. She enjoys exploring the worlds of music and education, as well as combining them. Fahlon’s musical career has led her to study and perform classical, world, and folk music. She focuses on playing the viola, Zimbabwean marimba, and voice; sometimes at the same time. As a member of Kumbana Marimba and Westerly Sisters, Fahlon has performed at events across North America including Vancouver Island Music Festival, Squamish Valley Music Festival, Rock the Peach, Islands Folk Fest, and Harmony Arts Festival to name a few. Fahlon has also performed with ensembles such as the Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Prince George Symphony Orchestra, Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Galiano Ensemble, Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra, and violist Garth Knox.


Offstage, Fahlon has coordinated festivals, has been a faculty member for workshops and summer programs, and was the Artistic Director for the Errington World Music Youth Camp in 2015-2018. Fahlon was awarded top prizes in Uvic Bach Competition in 2014, 2015, and 2016. She is the recipient of multiple awards, scholarships, and bursaries, and was nominated for the 2012 ‘Youth of the Year’ Glassie Award.


Currently, Fahlon teaches in School District 67 and performs with orchestras across BC.
